Our Mahi

Remote Booklet Facilitation

Designed for flexibility and accessibility, these curated resources include prompts, exercises, and tips to nurture creativity at each participant's own pace. Perfect for corrections, community groups, and individuals, our booklets make writing an engaging and supported journey, even from a distance.

Te Kāhui exercise booklets.

We are passionate about facilitating in-person creative writing workshops, though we recognise that not every corrections site can always accommodate this. To ensure rangatahi still have access to our programme, we developed a series of booklets that support our in-person sessions and serve as a remote alternative when needed. Many rangatahi express a strong desire to have their work published and shared, which led us to compile selections of their writing, resulting in ‘Taiohi Inside’.

Our booklets contain a series of 3 progressive writing exercises, with 2 additional Youth & Matariki booklets. Each one builds on the last, beginning with a focus on core techniques and an aim to bring all the skills together at the completion of each, and of them all as a whole.

“Great way to spark/foster a growth mindset. Thank you to the volunteers that give compassion to us.”

Our programme is for underserved communities, and we mainly work with rangatahi in community and Correctional spaces. No prior writing experience required.

“Really good and challenging. It was challenging but it opened my mind to something different. It reminds me of who I am, and gives me direction”
